What Does It Mean To Be Saved

Scripture For Today

I Timothy 2:1-5 NKJV

1 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,

Notice that it pleases God when we pray for all that are in authority for we know from Romans 13:1 all authorities are appointed by God. At the time Paul wrote his letter to the Romans (57-58 A.D), the Roman Caesars ruled the Roman empire and some were cruel tyrants, yet Paul says they were appointed by God. The Greek word for appointed is tasso and can mean to assign or dispose.  The purpose of all authorities from the above passage and the one in Romans 13:1 tell us the how and for what reason authorities are to govern - (1) to bring peace to society while respecting life that leads to godliness and reverence and (2) to punish evildoers:

 3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same. 4 For he is God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil. 5 Therefore you must be subject, not only because of wrath but also for conscience’ sake.

Please understand God will hold accountable and will judge wicked, evil and cruel leaders for He gives each of them the opportunity to obey His Word and rule by rigtheous actions. Ironically, each of the disposed dictators in the Middle East - Mubarak of Egypt, Saddam Hussein of Iraq, and Gaddafi of Libya all protected Christians. The lesson there for the United States is be careful when you take down a world leader for the replacement could be much worse.

What we are witnessing today in our nation is a violation of both these passages of Scripture. The backlash against President Trump whose policies are not hurting, but helping the American people - even his TEMPORARY ban on immigration from countries known to breed terrorists and have no means of vetting them is to PROTECT the American people from terrorist that might pretend to be a refugee and are really here to do us harm - the courts that opposed that are stupid individuals that ruled from politics not law. I believe the Supreme Court will reverse the decision of the 9th and 4th Circuit Courts.

Without the rule of law and borders we are not a nation. President Trump is trying to do both, but the liberal democrats, liberal courts and liberal media are dogging him at every turn.

You may not like President Trump, even hate him, but He is God's authority for this time in the history of our nation and we are to pray for him not curse, malign, mock, or want him assassinated. Such reveals poor character and a spirit not born of the Holy Spirit. We are warned in Scripture not to curse a leader of a nation:

Ecclesiastes 10:20 NKJV

20 Do not curse the kingeven in your thought;
Do not curse the rich, even in your bedroom;
For a bird of the air may carry your voice,
And a bird in flight may tell the matter.

This passage is one of those that uses figurative language to express the meaning. Aside from the passages in the books of the law where certain fowl are prohibited from eating, the phrase bird of the air and bird in flightusually has a negative omen such as a demon spirit. The meaning then is people who curse leaders of nations invite demonic spirits to bring a curse upon them and to expose their folly.  Notice also we are not to curse the rich!  Why is that? Because wealth is the gift of God and not just the result of hard work or good fortune

Ecclesiastes 5:19 NKJV

19 As for every man to whom God has given riches and wealth, and given him power to eat of it, to receive his heritage and rejoice in his labor—this is the gift of God.

The democratic party is continually on its soap box condemning the rich yet many of them are also very wealthy, and yeah, they also like Wall Street's money - ask Hillary for she didn't mind taking their money for her speeches - $300,000 plus.

If all nations lived by the principles of the Word of God the world would be without violence and hatred - the killing fields would vanish. One day that is going to become a reality when Jesus returns to this earth He created and sets up His Righteous Kingdom.  The Bible says He will rule with a rod of iron meaning He is not going to allow rebellion in His Kingdom.

Note: The thousand year reign of Christ is actually the rebuilding and restoration of planet earth which will be greatly damaged by the Seal, Trumpet and Bowl Judgements of the Book of Revelation (actually the Seals are not of themselves judgments as are the Trumpet and Bowls).

Pray for the peace of the United States of America!
