What Does It Mean To Be Saved

PERSONAL

The founder of The Biblical Worldview, Allen M. Barber, was born in Carthage (Panola County), Texas and grew up in Longview, Texas. He is a graduate of Pine Tree High School and was awarded a four-year football scholarship to the University of Texas at Arlington, Texas (formerly Arlington State College). After completing his football days at UTA, in which he was a two-year NCAA "Letterman," he was drafted into the United States Marine Corps (1966) and was involved in the Vietnam War (1967-1968). In Vietnam, Allen proudly served with the famous First Battalion, First Marine Division, better known as "1/1" for the Pacific campaign of WWII. During the Tet Offensive (1968), he was awarded the Combat “V (Valor) by the Department of the Navy for combat operations against the North Vietnamese Army at Con Thien, Quang Tri Province, and Hue. After returning from Vietnam, he completed his college education earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business. In addition to his call to the ministry (see below), he was a successful Credit and Finance Manager for several major Fortune 500/200 companies in the Dallas - Fort Worth area.

Allen and his wife Debbie were married on January 16, 1993 and make their home in Highland Village, Texas. They are members of the FBC of Dallas, TX.

SPIRITUAL

Allen was saved and called to the Ministry at the Fielder Road Baptist Church, Arlington, Texas, in 1971. In 1974, Fielder Road ordained and licensed him to the ministry. From 1971 to 1973, he attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and was involved with several Christian groups and youth ministries, preaching for church retreats and youth revivals. In addition, he taught Sunday School for both youth and adult classes and did pulpit supply for various Southern Baptist Churches.

MINISTRY

Beginning in 1974 and up to 1992, Allen pastored Southern Baptist Churches in full-time, bi-vocational and interim situations as well as pulpit supply as requested. In 1993 he established an independent teaching and writing ministry focused in Bible prophecy.  He has written many articles on a number of religious and political subjects, some that have been posted on Christian news websites. One article on "Christian Conservatism" was posted in the “Op Ed” section of the Dallas Morning News online edition. In May 2007, Allen felt led of the Lord to go online as thebiblicalworldview.org in order to share the truths of Scripture the Holy Spirit had taught him in four decades of Christian ministry.

Also, in 2007, he published his first book by Xulon Press entitled; Set My People Free, God's Position on Divorce and Remarriage. Because the publisher marketed the book by the title of Set My People Free, it did not reach the intended market of the divorced and remarried; therefore, the book is being re-published under a different title, Liberating Truth For The Divorced and Remarried. His second book, The Day of the Lord - The Key To Understanding End-Time Prophecy; A Critical Examination Of Pretribulationism was released by Tate Publishers (8/2011). It is over 400 pages of detailed research and commentary and exposes the fallacy of Pretribulationism (Pretrib rapture) within the context of the Posttrib Day of the Lord. It examines every major tenet of Pretribulationism and proves they fail the test of Sola Scriptura when compared to the Day of the Lord. In October 2009, Allen taught selected chapters to a prophecy forum in Perrysburg, Ohio.

From 1993 – 1998, Allen and Debbie, were involved in Prison Ministry and were certified workers in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. In 1993, he was selected by Chaplain Bill Brewer to teach a pilot Bible study discipleship course for inmates at the Gurney Unit, Tennessee Colony, Texas. It was the first of its kind at the Gurney Unit. During 1995 – 1997, Allen and Debbie were invited several times to minister at the McDonald and Garza Units in Beeville, Texas. At one Easter weekend service, 120 inmates received Christ. They consider their former prison ministry as one of the highlights of their Christian experience. Since 2000, Allen has been primarily involved with an online teaching ministry, writing his books, and earning his Doctor of Theology degree.  In 2005 and 2006, he taught seminars for Newburgh Theological Seminary's long distance learning program. As mentioned, he is also involved in teaching prophecy conferences. It is Allen's earnest prayer to reach a greater audience for the truth of God's Word via this website.
